Jimmy Stevenson founded Southern Way Catering on Feb. 2, 1982. At that time, the small catering company was located off Leesburg Road and was known for its Farrs bars and fried catfish. Jimmy’s goal was to create a company that exuded Southern hospitality through its attention to detail, its service, and its delicious food. While Farrs bars and fried catfish are still staples on the menu, Southern Way’s menus have evolved as the market continues to change.

You will now see trendy small plates, unique and creative passed hors d’oeuvres, and a wide variety of both nouvelle and classic cuisine. In addition to menu growth, Southern Way has expanded tremendously. Over the past decade, Jimmy brought in partners, daughter, Brittany Stuckey, vice president of operations, and Jesse Bullard, vice president of business development.

In 2019, Southern Way expanded into the upstate and added another partner, Mark McCalmont, managing partner of the Greenville division.

While growth has been dramatic, Jimmy, Brittany, Jesse, Mark, and their teams remain steadily focused on providing each of Southern Way’s clients with an experience that embodies the spirit of true Southern hospitality. Southern Way’s philosophy is to deliver industry-leading professionalism, above and beyond service, and a gracious client experience rooted in a philosophy that quality is not just an expectation, but a way of life.
