Rajeev Vasudeva, M.D., FACG

Rajeev Vasudeva, M.D., FACG, joined the Consultants in Gastroenterology practice in 2001 after having served as the Director, Division of Digestive Diseases & Nutrition, USC School of Medicine for more than 10 years. “Applying my academic medical background to private practice has enhanced my abilities to take care of difficult and complicated patients,” says Dr. Vasudeva. His other passions are health education and research. High school, college, and medical students continue to spend time with him during shadowing experiences. He has continued to engage in community and physician education seminars and is actively involved in the administrative activities at the American College of Gastroenterology, having served as the chairman of several committees over the past decade. He has been elected to be the next governor for South Carolina for the American College of Gastroenterology. He is also actively involved in various research studies including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease — studies that are conducted at the offices of Consultants in Gastroenterology.

“Therapeutic endoscopy has evolved significantly in the past 20 years, and it has been a pleasure serving the patients in the Midlands as opposed to them seeking care elsewhere in the state or out of state at tertiary medical centers,” says Dr. Vasudeva.

Consultants in Gastroenterology has nine board certified physicians, all of whom deliver excellent and compassionate care in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology — short of transplantation. A team approach has been the key to fulfilling the mission of the group.
