Superintendent Brenda Hafner, Ed.D.

Lexington School District Two is steps from South Carolina’s bustling capital city, yet it is a close-knit community, home to the historic “Avenues,” a vibrant riverfront, and suburban neighborhoods. “Lexington Two is a gem,” Superintendent Brenda Hafner, Ed.D., says. “The people make this district distinctive. There are current students and employees, along with students who graduated then moved back to be near parents and grandparents, many of whom also graduated from Lexington Two. Local businesses, elected officials, and community organizations are huge supporters. This Lexington Two pride, along with our smaller district size, are keys to our success.”

Lexington Two emphasizes academics, involvement, and service. It starts with an award-winning school readiness partnership, leading to engaging early childhood and elementary programs that build key skills. In middle and high school, students are immersed in academic and extracurricular activities that further develop creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative skills, with accelerated opportunities including honors courses, AP, Early College/dual enrollment, as well as career pathways that give our graduates distinct advantages. Our students excel in athletics, community service, and the arts. A performing arts center, opening in 2024, will offer world-class experiences for our students and community.

Students are at the heart of every decision, a culture that flourishes with Dr. Hafner’s leadership. “Champions for Children isn’t just our motto, it’s the way we approach everything we do,” Dr. Hafner says. “Our team gives the best to every student, every day.”
