James R. “Jim” Snell, Jr., has been a licensed South Carolina attorney since 2004. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree from Harvard University. He has repeatedly been recognized by Super Lawyers and as a “best of” by readers of Lexington Life Magazine and The State.
He has served as the president of the Lexington County Bar Association and is the present 11th Circuit chairman of the South Carolina Bar Fee Dispute Committee. He is the author of several publications, including South Carolina DUI Defense: The Law and Practice and Challenging CDV Third Edition. His main areas of practice include criminal defense, DUI defense, personal injury, and workers’ compensation.
Snell is a certified South Carolina Circuit Court mediator and arbitrator. He maintains memberships in the South Carolina Association for Justice, South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the National College of DUI Defense.
Snell believes that a major reason for his success has been his commitment to provide his clients with realistic assessments of their case and what they can expect to experience with the court system. “No one chooses to get injured or arrested,” he says, “but when these things happen, people need someone they can trust and have confidence in to give them the best chance at a positive outcome.”
