Julia K. Mikell, DDS
A truth Julia Mikell learned along the way is that the best candidates often need to be invited to the table. “I certainly have leaned on many mentors in my past who have shaped the dentist I am today. Mentoring is a privilege that I treasure. I hope to continue encouraging and inspiring young people to be active participants in their communities in whatever capacity they choose to follow.”
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Mikell feels lucky to have landed in a community with such a robust network of relationships for building her private practice. As the 2023 recipient of the South Carolina Dental Association’s most prestigious George P. Hoffman Award, her contributions and commitment to her profession were acknowledged. She has had the privilege to serve as the president of the SCDA in 2020 and 2021 and on a council of the American Dental Association 2015-2018, and she has just begun her appointment to the S.C. Board of Dentistry.
