Columbia Periodontal Associates is the largest periodontal practice in Columbia with an established tradition of excellence for more than 32 years. They have four locations throughout the Midlands to best serve you. Drs. Ayers, Hedgpeth, McEntire, and Park are Board-Certified Diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology with Dr. Mears becoming certified this spring. All doctors have extensive experience in the placement of dental implants as well as the cosmetic and conservative treatment of periodontal disease. Their goal is to provide optimal care to all of their patients in the most caring and efficient manner while always working closely with your general dentist. They stay progressive with their detailed approach to dental implant treatment, incorporating pre-surgical planning using cone-beam CT imaging, digital scanners, guided surgery, and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) for alveolar bone reconstruction.
Dr. Ayers is a graduate of Presbyterian College and earned Dental and Periodontal degrees from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Ayers and his wife Diana have three sons.
Dr. Hedgpeth is a graduate of Mississippi College and earned his Dental and Periodontal degrees from the University of Mississippi Medical Center and MUSC. Dr. Hedgpeth and his wife Brittney have two children.
Dr. McEntire is a graduate of Presbyterian College and earned his Dental and Periodontal degrees from MUSC.
Dr. Park is a graduate of Duke University and earned her Dental and Periodontal degrees from MUSC in addition to a one-year residency in advanced education in general dentistry at the State University of New York. Dr. Park and her husband Won have three children.
Dr. Mears is a graduate of University of Georgia and earned his Dental degree from the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University and his Periodontal degree from Augusta University. Dr. Mears and his wife Maggie have a son and are expecting their second child.
