Come Wish Upon a Star with Town Theatre’s My Son Pinocchio: Gepetto’s Musical Tale

With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Pocohontas, Wicked, Pippin) and book by David I. Stern, My Son Pinocchio is based on the classic tale of Pinocchio but told from Geppetto’s perspective. The show stars Town Theatre’s 90 youth theatre students – ranging in age from 5 to 17 – the production is sure to be entertaining while dealing with important issues such as individuality, self-esteem and the relationships between parents and children. Produced for the first time in the Midlands, these youth performers will be making history when they take the stage with this full-scale musical theatre extravaganza.

Tickets are $10 to $15 and available to the general public starting Monday, March 25 at towntheatre.com or via 803-799-2510. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 12 noon – PM.

My Son Pinocchio runs April 5-7 with a 7 PM Friday performance, 3 PM and 7 PM Saturday performances, and a 3 PM Sunday performance. Town’s youth theatre program is under the direction of Scott Vaughan with Megan Douthitt as assistant director and Kathy Seppamaki as musical director. Providing special costume assistantce for this production is Billy Bishop and Jillian Carey. Danny Harrington and Corey Langley direct the scenic and lighting design.
