14th Annual Palmetto Peanut Boil
October 9, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pmFree
Date: Saturday October 9th
Time: Noon to 6pm
Location: 2900 Block of Devine Street
The 14th Annual Palmetto Peanut Boil is returning to Devine Street on Saturday October 9th! The event celebrates the official state snack of SC, the boiled peanut, with a cooking competition and a day of family fun. Cash prizes and bragging rights are at stake for the best recipe, and all proceeds benefit Animal Mission’s free spay and neuter program, and the city animal shelter. Enjoy live music from DJ VooDoo Child and Whiskey Tango Revue, and meet some of Columbia Animal Service’s adoptable pets.
Admission is free. The event is outdoors, and to insure safety for our cookers, volunteers, and attendees, we have reduced the number of vendor tents to allow maximum spacing, and will not be hosting the children’s bounce houses this year. If you are unable to attend, but would still like to support our programs on behalf of homeless pets in the Midlands, please visit AnimalMission.org to donate online.
About Us: Animal Mission, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless pets in SC, offers vouchers for free and discounted spay/neuter for pets throughout the Midlands. Through controlling the population and increasing adoption rates, we can achieve ‘No-Kill’ status in the Midlands. Since 2006, Animal Mission has contributed more than $2.3 million for more than 52,000 spay/neuter procedures for pets in our community. We’ve also funded a variety of upgrades at the Columbia Animal Shelter, enhancing the stay and outcome for thousands of shelter pets as they await their forever homes.
