Caity wore a Brussels lace veil that has been in the family of the groom’s mother since the early 1960s; she was the 20th bride in the family to wear it on her wedding day. Pawleys Island was the setting for Katharine Padgett-Beard and Thomas Hartmann’s wedding at the Heritage Club. The couple and their guests danced under a ceiling of twinkling lights, with more lights dripping from huge live oaks. Columbians Sally Hall and Chris Bernardin’s wedding weekend was kicked off at the Greystone Inn, North Carolina, with a rehearsal dinner and party featuring the Blue Dogs from Charleston. The wedding, at the Lake Toxaway Country Club, had a dramatic backdrop with the mountains and fog rolling in as the bride was ushered in by bagpipes.
