Live music, enthusiastic crowd, convenient location … and no cost! The Jam Room Music Festival hosts its third annual music event on Oct. 11. After two consecutive successful festivals, the Jam Room Music Festival is boosting the music intensity for this 2014 popular performance. Located on Main Street, the Jam Room Music Festival is the only free show of its kind in Columbia. The announced lineup promises a concert featuring the most eclectic and diverse artists to appear on Main Street yet.
Opening the event, The Reverend Matthew Mickens and the New Highway Travelers will jumpstart the show with high-energy, local, gospel music. The festival will also feature Nashville-based band, Leagues. Leagues displays a penchant for memorable, anthemic lyrics and a mix of dirty guitar tones with catchy, indie-pop harmonies. Sharing the spotlight, The Defibulators, will also work the stage with its unique mix of musical styles that push country music boundaries. The Whisky Gentry’s latest album, Holly Grove, infuses elements of country, bluegrass, folk, rock and punk with a mix of poppy and poignant lyrics. Concluding the top-five lineup, Megan Jean and the KFB will contribute its brand of washboard and banjo metal from 1927.
