The Crossings at Columbia will provide the comforts of home, the care of professionals and the energy of life to seniors seeking exceptional care. Developed and managed by Harmony Senior Services, a Virginia-based, family-owned company, The Crossings will set a new standard for “Great Living” with a wide array of options including spacious studios and large one and two bedroom apartments. Harmony’s philosophy of combining quality senior care with exceptional value and service will be evident throughout, both in the assisted living apartment homes and Harmony Square, their memory care neighborhood.

In addition to pleasing their residents’ palettes, they provide on-site clinical support fulltime, giving the residents and families peace of mind.

Overseeing the day-to-day operations, the management team brings more than 50 years combined experience to The Crossings, providing immediate response to any resident or family question, concern or need. Daybreak Adult Care Services

Going on 15 years in business, Daybreak Adult Care Services has provided nonmedical services to seniors in their own homes. Seniors’ needs can vary greatly — some might just need someone to help them run errands or take care of a pet. Others might need around-the-clock assistance. Care is generally given in private residences, but some clients are in assisted living facilities and nursing homes.

Daybreak employs about 180 workers. “We’re a locally owned business with many resources,” Owner Coker Day states. “If a caregiver can’t make it to work one day, someone else will be there. Because we make the decisions, we are flexible and are able to take special care of our clients.” Daybreak doesn’t want “a revolving door” of people coming in and out. “We do everything in our power to make sure you don’t have too many caregivers and that you have consistent caregivers following your personalized care plan.”

Daybreak Adult Care serves clients in Columbia, Lexington, Aiken and Hilton Head.

Oakleaf Village of Lexington opened its doors 13 years ago, and many of their original employees are still with them today. “We have been here long enough that word-of-mouth from happy residents and families is our biggest referral source,” according to Keren Pickard, marketing director for Oakleaf Village. “I often marvel over how wonderful our staff is. There’s a noticeable difference when staff members are proud of the work they do. We really become an extended family because there’s a strong bond when you are intimately involved in caring for people year after year.”

During the holidays you may see that your family member needs a little socialization, or help with activities of daily living. If so, visit Oakleaf Village and see what everyone is talking about.

Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina

“Known for its warmth, friendliness and gracious hospitality.” Ask a resident or family member why they chose the Columbia Presbyterian Retirement Community and the answer usually sounds like this …

“The minute we walked in the door it just felt right. Everyone was so warm and friendly with both staff and residents greeting and welcoming us. The people made us feel immediately comfortable and we knew we had found the right place because it felt like home.”

So go the comments of the people who have chosen Columbia Presbyterian Community to be their home. Sandy Olson, director of marketing and sales, explains, “We have a special name for our unique brand of warmth and friendliness — it’s called Gracious Hospitality. And, it’s more than a name, it is a special culture we’ve worked hard to create through new employee training, programs such as our special welcome orientation for new residents and services with a person-centered focus.” Gracious Hospitality takes customer service to a higher level, and it is one of the most distinctive features of the community.
