CMM offered fourth grade art classrooms across the Midlands an opportunity to select three student representatives from each school to submit a piece of art in our CMM Young Creatives Competition. We were so pleased with the many entries and offer our compliments and best wishes to all of the young artists who competed. We are excited to congratulate Kingston Belton for his winning piece!
Kingston is 10 years old and excels in Ginger Henson’s art class at Bookman Road Elementary. His favorite subject is math, and he enjoys cultivating his creative side through painting, drawing and working with clay. “My favorite part is that we get to do hands-on activities,” he says. His painting of an aspen forest was inspired by the work of Jennifer Vranes. “I was inspired by her amazing art, so I thought I could try to do my own,” he shares.
Honorable mentions for other outstanding pieces of art can be found at ColumbiaMetro.com by the following young local artists: Niara Bishop-Gantt at Satchel Ford Elementary; Brock Godfrey at Midway Elementary; Gracie Hair at Midway Elementary; Sasha Kobilarov at Oak Pointe Elementary; Carolina Murray at Springdale Elementary; Abigail Wessinger at Lake Murray Elementary; and Jonathan Wu at Lake Murray Elementary.
