Top interior designers from the Midlands have ventured into a brand new home built by Robert Haas Construction and given these beautiful rooms a style that is certain to offer you inspiration for your own decorating.
The two-story brick home has six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, an inviting pool and a kitchen with appliances so modern that it can almost cook dinner by itself. Whether it is a new coat of paint in the half-bath, adding a modern lamp with a splash of color to the living room or a full transformation to your master bedroom, we hope the following pages filled with the latest design trends — implemented by the masters — inspire you to spice up your own décor at home!
Mandy Summers: M. Gallery Interiors
Mandy Summers, certified interior decorator and owner of M. Gallery Interiors in Lexington, knew immediately that she wanted to design this stunning foyer! She chose two shades of grey for the walls, to highlight the architectural features, and designed a quaint sitting area below the dramatic flying staircase. The welcoming space is grounded by a unique open patterned rug and highlighted by an amazing series of colorful 3D canvasses by local Artist Melony Stuckey. “Still Raining” is a 15-piece series conceived by Mandy, painted by Melony and bravely hung by Jason Miracle. Pieces of the work will be up for charity auction soon!
Mark McGill: Jeffers McGill
The appliances, provided by Jeffers McGill, were hand selected by Julia and Bobby Haas along with the assistance of Ryan Thompson. Together they selected Thermador Professional Appliances featuring a double wall oven and 48-inch range top combination. The refrigeration system and two dishwashers integrate seamlessly into the cabinets. The appliances are rounded out with a Monogram refrigerated beverage center and ice machine in the bar area and GE front load laundry. This is truly a dream kitchen!

Louis Ferguson: Ethan Allen
Evoking the calm, tranquil colors of the sea, Louis Ferguson from Ethan Allen used natural fiber fabrics and painted finishes to create a guest room oasis. Soft, misty blue-greens in the bed linens mingle perfectly with light white sand and dune tones in the upholstered bed and bedside chest. The colors are reinforced in the painted accent chest, linen chair and trellis patterned rug, while the wall color, ottoman and window treatments keep things nice and neutral.
Steven Ford: Steven Ford Interiors, Inc.
Steven Ford of Steven Ford Interiors, Inc. used the subtle shades of the beautiful silk/wool Stark Ikat rug as the inspirational springboard for this living space. Steven chose to work with a nature-like neutral palette using soft, warm shades in pleasing combinations with accents in subtle cool hues of green and blue. The wood sculpture, stone-top metal cocktail table, mix of shell accessories and sea glass lamps add fresh energy and textural contrast. The rattan target-back McGuire chairs are a casual counterpoint to the neutral linen sofa and zebra chairs.
Linda Burnside: LGB Interiors
Sumptuous fabrics of satin, silk and velvet impart a beautiful and playful liveliness to the master bedroom suite designed by Linda Burnside of LGB Interiors. “I don’t think about extravagance; I think about what’s beautiful. Luxurious textures and verdant colors can really create a harmony of light, space and most of all … spirit.”
Kelli Limehouse: LimeHouse Home Interiors
Welcome Home! This family room designed by Kelli Limehouse of LimeHouse Home Interiors exudes comfort and elegance. It invites all to come in, get cozy and kick up your feet. The soothing color on the walls, the chenille area rug and the fabrics on the furniture create a warm neutral backdrop. Vibrant colors, drawn from the whimsical oil painting, are layered throughout this room in throw pillows and accessories. A rustic bench, draped in cowhide, anchors the photography taken from a trip to the California coast. These design elements make a perfect room for today’s active family.
Joan Goodwin: Verandah Interior Design
Gorgeous dining room — grand style. The room’s formal air lent itself to the timeless furnishings and fabrics Joan Goodwin of Verandah Interior Design selected when designing this dining room. “The room was very formal with heavy moldings, wainscoting and a crystal chandelier.” Joan wanted to keep the fabrics and feel of the space fresh and current. “The floor-to-ceiling French doors reminded me of Versailles and evoked a certain grandness that I wanted to emphasize.” Ikat fabric on the repurposed captain dining room chairs, Greek key trim on the silk drapes, along with a geometric pattern on the side chairs, brought a lovely traditional space into the here-and-now in grand style.
Larry Brazell: Columbia Classic Pools
This “Roman End” 8-foot deep pool features glass mosaic iridescent tiles that seem to change colors when seen from different angles. Other elements of desire are the raised six-person spa with a vanishing edge spillway from spa to pool and the lounge area with 6 to 8 inches of water that incorporates an umbrella anchor so people can lounge in the pool without being in direct sunlight. The pool has L.E.D. multi-color lights, which allows for different mood settings and four deck jets that are mounted flush with the deck to spray a stream of water that can be adjusted at different heights.
