Lauren Ross, DVM, MPH

South Carolina Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care has served the Midlands for more than 20 years and is the area’s longest serving specialty and emergency veterinary hospital. Eighteen doctors provide services in oncology, internal medicine, cardiology, urgent, emergency, and critical care. Their extended campus offers surgery, anesthesiology, neurology, pain management, and ophthalmology — providing the most comprehensive care available for your pets.

In 2022, SCVSEC opened their Urgent Care Department to meet the needs of the community seeking care for their pets with minor illnesses and injuries. They are the only veterinary hospital in the Columbia area offering urgent, emergency and critical care in one facility. 

SCVSEC welcomed several new specialists in the past year. They are excited to introduce their new oncologist, Lauren Ross, DVM, MPH, who joined the oncology team in 2022 after completing her residency at the University of Missouri. Her interests include lymphoma and mast cell tumors. She has been a strong advocate for supporting and educating our team and the surrounding veterinary community.

South Carolina Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care is AAHA certified and is designated as a Level 2 Critical Care Facility by VECCS. Their emergency department is open 24/7 and has a devoted team of doctors and staff equipped with specialized and essential equipment to provide the highest quality of care for all patients any time, day, or night. They look forward to additional growth as they continue to meet the needs of pet owners across the Midlands.
