Seibels offers the property and casualty insurance industry business process services powered by world-class technology. Clients rely on Seibels as an outsourcing partner to streamline their operations, reduce costs, and improve customer service levels.

In May 2019, Seibels celebrated 150 years of being in business. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the company held numerous events both inside and outside of the office. The company invited clients, vendor partners, community leaders, and dignitaries to a reception at the Seibels House, which is believed to be the oldest residential house in Columbia once owned by the Seibels family. The company also took a group to the IBHS Research Center in Richburg, South Carolina, for a tour of the state-of-the-art research facility. Internally, team members celebrated with pizza parties, fun games, and photo shoots.

“Being present for almost one-third of Seibels’ 150 years, I experienced a few ‘flashbacks’ during this year’s anniversary observations,” says Andy Banco, a long-time Seibels employee. “I remembered those leaders and coworkers who were and remain significant elements of my Seibels life. I recognized that the company’s core values of respect, transparency, collaboration and accountability were present with my 1972 inauguration year. For just a moment, I looked backwards with some reverence and appreciation for an organization that has been my Seibels family.”

Seibels has served as a meaningful source of employment, technological innovation, and economic development since its founding. In February 2018 the company was recognized by the South Carolina Secretary of State’s Office as a South Carolina Centennial Business. In April 2018, the company was recognized as one of the top 2018 workplaces in South Carolina by Integrated Media Publishing and Energage. Seibels also remains ever-dedicated to fundraising for the South Carolina chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

“First and foremost, we want to thank our clients, team members, stakeholders, and business partners for contributing to Seibels’ success,” added Rex Huggins. “We are excited to have the opportunity to drive the Seibels legacy into the future and look forward to the next 150 years.”
