Ellen Harrison, Magnet Curriculum Specialist

Ellen Harrison is home in Richland Two. She attended Lonnie B. Nelson Elementary, North Springs Elementary, E. L. Wright Middle, and graduated from Spring Valley High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Arts in Divergent Learning from Columbia College, as well as National Board Certification in Career and Technology Education: Arts and Communication.
Prior to her work as the Magnet Curriculum Specialist, she developed the dance program and served as the Fine Arts Department Leader at Ridge View. She has been in education for 24 years, 22 at Ridge View. One of her proudest realizations is her involvement in creating an Arts Leadership class designed specifically for students with disabilities. This class was a model for the development of a companion class called Sports Leadership. Through this course development, Mrs. Harrison and school leaders noticed a positive culture shift within the student body. She is an advocate for every student receiving an authentic, collaborative, and engaging learning path that makes them marketable for their future.
School Mission: The mission of Ridge View High School is to offer a premier learning environment by providing authentic, collaborative, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences and opportunities that prepare students for the 21st-century challenges and responsibilities of global citizenship. We prepare today for success tomorrow.
