Emily Caskey began her service in education as a fourth grade teacher at McCormick Elementary School in McCormick, S.C. following her commencement from Lander University in 2004. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and has advanced through two graduate degrees. The first is a M.Ed. from Columbia College in Divergent Learning, and the second is an Ed.S. in School Administration and Leadership from Cambridge College. After teaching in McCormick for three years, Miss Caskey returned to Columbia and began teaching at Conder Elementary Arts Integrated Magnet School in Richland Two. A proud product of the district, Miss Caskey attended Windsor Elementary School, was a student in The Learning Collaborative magnet at Dent Middle School, and graduated from Richland Northeast High School in 2000.
She was the District Director for the 2015 Race to the Top Grant and is currently Project Director for the 2017 Magnet Schools Assistance Program Grant. She prides herself in working to do what is best for children each day. She believes in serving others and leading with a servant-based mindset. The opportunity to lead the implementation and management of the Med Pro 21 project continues to build her capacity as a leader and seeker for equitable opportunities for all students. Miss Caskey enjoys time with family, friends, and anything outdoors. She has worked with horses her entire life and is thankful for this continued opportunity today.
