Joel Lourie has always had a passion for helping others. In his 18 years of service in the South Carolina State Legislature, Senator Lourie was the go-to leader on many landmark health care initiatives. He has been recognized by many organizations for his efforts on autism, child safety, health care, and senior protection.
Joel met his business partner, Chris Johnson, when the two of them were working for a national insurance broker in 2009. In this capacity, they would recruit and train agents in the Medicare market in all parts of the country.
Joel started Lourie Life & Health in 2011, and Chris would join him shortly thereafter. Their goal was to become the most specialized Medicare agency in South Carolina. In the brief six years they have worked together, Lourie Life & Health has become one of the top Medicare brokers in the Southeast with more than 250 agents in four states.
The Lourie agency has two divisions: a broker team that supports a highly trained network of independent agents and a retail team that works with local clients in the Midlands. In addition to Medicare, the company offers individual and group health plans, life insurance, and cancer plans.
Team Lourie prides itself on the three most important components of a successful insurance agency: superior service, extensive product knowledge, and the most competitive portfolio available in the market. Everyone at the Lourie agency will always go the extra mile on behalf of their clients. From the time someone calls the office or walks into the door, the professionals at Lourie Life & Health are determined to make sure you are educated on your options and fully understand your coverage.
Whether helping clients select a new plan, or simply reassuring them that their current coverage is the right fit, there is no cost for this service. Your friends at Lourie Life & Health take great pride in being the premier Medicare and health insurance resource for the Midlands. As Joel Lourie likes to say, “When you can make a living helping others, it’s not work — it’s a blessing.”
