James B. Dickson, M.D., FACS
James B. Dickson, M.D., FACS, is board-certified in ophthalmology and ocular plastic surgery. He completed his residency and fellowship at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is known as “the Doctor’s Doctor” and frequently teaches fellow surgeons on advanced eye surgery procedures. His research and seminal dissertation on “Laser Applications in Surgery” in 1987 was awarded first place by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a senior board examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been examining ophthalmology residents for more than 25 years.
He has been in independent private practice for more than 35 years in the Columbia/Lexington area. He is a founding member of Independent Doctors of South Carolina, joining together to preserve, protect and promote the independent practice of medicine to ensure that patients in South Carolina have alternatives and access to high quality, doctor driven care.
