CENTA Medical Group was founded in 1928 and is believed to be the oldest otolaryngology group in the Southeast. The longevity of the group is reflective of their dedication to the Midlands of South Carolina. William Giles, M.D., is a native of Columbia; his father was a physics professor at the university. He came back home after finishing his education and training, which included a Pediatric Fellowship and a Facial Plastic fellowship after his residency.

The father of Jonathan King, M.D., was a rocket scientist at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Dr. King came directly to Columbia after completing his training and Air Force obligation: he is uniquely skilled and is a sought-after instructor. Dr. Giles and Dr. King have both been named to the Best Doctors of America list numerous times and have served Columbia more than 50 years total.

Aaron Hilton, M.D., comes from a medical family and was raised in Florida. He played soccer at the University of Miami and came directly to Columbia after his training. Dr. Hilton has been in town for six years and already has been named one of the Best Doctors in America. This is a great honor — he is gifted and very popular. We are extremely fortunate to have him in Columbia.

CENTA Medical Group also has two talented advance care practitioners and three doctors of audiology as well as a very caring and talented support staff. They have successfully treated tens of thousands of patients with diverse medical pathology including sinus disease, thyroid disease, head neck cancer, skin cancer, ear difficulties, pediatric illnesses, and facial reconstruction.

CENTA Medical Group works closely with many physicians in the area including performing very complex surgeries with other specialists. The group has a long commitment to teaching both the medical students and the physicians in training at the University of South Carolina Medical School.
