Calling all families, gardeners, and small farm enthusiasts! You are invited to join local farms in celebrating the start of the growing season, small local farms, and Earth Day, at Spring Farm Fest 2023!

Spring Farm Fest is hosted by Doko Farm, in the Cedar Creek community of Richland County. Now in its 3rd year, this home-grown event is a way to celebrate the start of a new season, and uplift other small farms in the area. Joining Doko Farm will be Greenleaf Farms, West Ridge Farms, and One Hubcap Farm.

Each farm will be hosting a workshop or activity during the event. Guests can participate in a walking Tour of Doko Farm, a Composting Workshop, DIY Bouquet Building, and Sawhorse Calf Roping. Local farms will also have pasture-raised meats, veggies, and seedlings available for purchase. Guests may also bring seeds for the Community Seed Swap table and take home seeds to plant in their garden.

New to the event this year is the 1st annual Farm Olympics! Teams of 4-5 can register online to compete in a series of fun and sometimes silly games based loosely on daily farm chores. Games include getting dressed for morning chores, large round hay bale rolling, wheelbarrow races and more! There is a fee to enter and teams will have the chance to win the much coveted traveling trophy and be declared the Farm Olympic Champions of 2023.

“My hope is the Farm Olympics will bring the community together for a morning of fun and shenanigans, and help us raise some funds needed to offset the cost of hosting our annual free community events,” explains Amanda Jones, co-owner of Doko Farm and the event organizer. “Everyone is invited to come out and compete, cheer on friends, and enjoy the fun at Doko Farm.”
