“We emphasize the one-on-one personal relationship that is formed between the patient and therapist.”
How did your business begin?
After working in every rehab setting imaginable, Vital Energy Wellness and Rehab Center is the result of my vision and dream to one day own a clinic. With more than 30 years of experience in the rehab field, I always wanted to start a clinic where the focus was on healing and wellness. Founded in 2007, our main location in Lexington is that place.
What differentiates your business from other specialists in the field?
At Vital Energy, we combine many traditional and non-traditional techniques in order to heal the whole body, not just one body part. We are unique in the fact that we offer occupational and physical therapy while also offering holistic/alternative, pediatric and aquatic therapy all in one location. Our therapists are trained and experienced in a wide variety of conditions and diagnoses. We emphasize the one-on-one personal relationship that is formed between the patient and therapist. We strongly believe that in order for you to get well, you need a strong support system and ample guidance from your therapist.
What are your goals for this year?
This year is one of growth and change for our company. We will be expanding in the Forest Acres area by the end of the year, and every day we are gaining new patients and more brand recognition from referring physicians. Additionally, in one of our newest ventures, we have partnered with EXOS, formerly Athletes’ Performance, to offer elite athletic training, nutrition counseling, team training/consulting and sports injury rehab on an international scale. This new company, called Vital Energy Powered by EXOS, is based out of Mumbai, India. In a different area of focus, we will also be partnering with another leading company in the field of work injuries to establish the Carolinas’ first work injury center. This center will target employers who need injured employees to get better quicker and back to work faster.
How does your company give back to the Columbia community?
We offer a free meditation and healing session that is open to the public every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at our main location in Lexington. Many patients suffering from chronic pain or fibromyalgia find meditation a very effective way to manage their pain. We also participate in many community events as a sponsor or supporter.
