Eileen Nason was born in a small town in Maine and moved to Portland, Maine to further her education. She lived in Portland until 17 years ago when she and her family moved to South Carolina. She has three grown sons and lives on the lake in Chapin with her husband of 36 years and two cats.
Eileen has been in the travel industry for almost 30 years. It began with an absolute passion to see new places and visit far away destinations. She began volunteering at a small local travel agency in Maine. Six months later she was hired full time and has been planning trips ever since. Five years ago Eileen and her husband Glenn opened their own travel agency in the Harbison area and then opened a second office last year on the northeast side of Columbia in the Sandhills area.
Travel Leaders of Columbia specializes in travel all over the world. Eileen has been to six of the seven continents. When asked what her favorite trip is she lists many but an African safari stands a little above the others. Other highlights include the Taj Mahal, the Galapagos, the Great Wall of China, the Eiffel Tower, the Coliseum, Big Ben, the Panama Canal and the beautiful Islands of the Caribbean and the South Pacific.
The business has branched out with a honeymoon and destination wedding department. You may see one of their Sandals vehicles driving around Columbia. The agency has received many prestigious awards since opening. Most recently they were named the Best of the Best in the Carolinas for sales of Sandals and Beaches destinations.
Eileen and her staff pride themselves on providing the best customer experience from the beginning of the planning process right through the return home. They provide more services than most of their customers expect and have a wonderful referral system. All of the team members have a passion for travel and are encouraged to see new places as often as possible in order to provide the best recommendations to their clients. Many people don’t realize that they don’t save money by planning their trip themselves on the internet and they miss out on the recommendations, assistance and support of a travel agent.
