Top Cake Contest

Columbia Metropolitan magazine’s 3rd ANNUAL TOP CAKE CONTEST

Columbia Metropolitan is proud to present our annual Top Cake Contest, and we want you to submit your best cake recipes for consideration!

All amateur chefs 21 years or older living in the greater Columbia metropolitan area are invited to submit recipes for consideration to be featured in the April 2012 food issue of Columbia Metropolitan magazine and to be tasted at the Central Carolina Food and Wine Festival Gala event on April 17.

To enter, fill out the entry form found here and submit your recipe by email, fax or mailed-in entry by Feb. 1, 2012 (mailed entries should be postmarked by Feb. 1).

A few rules:

• Entry must be an original recipe.
• Chefs are limited to one entry each.
• If recipe is chosen to be featured in the April issue, contestant must supply a cake to be photographed. Details regarding photo shoot to be announced.

The top five recipes to be featured in the April 2012 issue will be decided upon by Columbia Metropolitan staff. Judging for the top cake will be decided upon by visitors to the Central Carolina Food and Wine Festival Gala event, taking place on April 17. Contestants will need to provide enough cake for 100 bite-sized samples and should be present at event. Contestants will be contacted individually with more details regarding the event.

All contestants will be notified of the competition outcome by an announcement at the Central Carolina Food and Wine Festival Gala event.

The chef of the top cake will receive some fabulous prizes from local Columbia vendors. We’ll update this site with a list as they come in.

So submit your recipes soon! Our mouths are watering in anticipation!
