“We are emergency room doctors for your home, and we get to save the day, every day,” says Walker Williams, owner of PuroClean Disaster Restoration Services. That’s a big statement for anyone to make, but when you hear what he does for a living you understand completely. “Imagine coming home from work and finding out that an upstairs toilet has overflowed for the last eight hours. Your living room ceiling is on the floor, two inches of water covers your hardwood floors, soggy drywall covers your antique furniture, new upholstery and children’s portraits. It can be an overwhelming experience for the homeowner, but it’s something we deal with every day, and we can fix all of it.”
PuroClean is not just a construction business. “Most contractors can’t do what we do, nor do they want to. What makes our business unique is that we have to work with so many different variables. We have to be able to dry the home, we have to have the facility to store and clean the contents, we have to know who to call for all sorts of specialty services, we have to be able to clean soot and remove odors after a fire, and we have to be able to repair the damages to your home to get you back up and running as quickly as possible. That’s what makes us different. We have built the infrastructure, staff, and training to take care of all kinds of problems.”
Justin Hayes, director of business development, says, “The company has really become a powerhouse in the industry. We help people with water damages, fire and smoke damage, mold remediation, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, new roofs … we have the capabilities to do almost anything. Not only that, but when you do 50 kitchens and 100 bathroom remodels a year, you get very efficient at it. The processes and procedures are there to ensure that the customer has a smooth, pleasant experience every time.”
Walker says, “Our business is difficult, it’s 24/7, weekends, Christmas Day, you name it. But it’s worth it when you receive a nice letter or note from a customer telling us how happy they are with the work we have done. I’m proud of the people that work here, and I’m proud of what we have been able to accomplish. It’s nice to be able to look people in the eye and have them acknowledge that you made a difference in their lives. I can’t imagine a better way to make a living.”
