Paul Sloan started his interior design career in 1984 at Mais Oui Ltd., a 300-square-foot space under Al’s Upstairs Italian Restaurant. “Due to the fabulous and loyal customers and clients that I have met, I am still enjoying the interior design business that I so love,” says Paul, now owner of Paul D. Sloan Interiors. “Being in the business for 29 years, every day is still exciting for me. I always experience great pleasure when I connect with a client and am able to deliver the look and feel they desire.”
Having a retail store, PDS Interiors, at 1012 Gervais Street allows Paul to meet many different clients with styles ranging from contemporary to traditional. He also has the opportunity to represent many great artists, whose works are on display at the store. “It has been my pleasure to have so many of Columbia’s designers originally work with me,” Paul says. “I am very fortunate that my own taste and style is so versatile and I can relate to the most diverse of clients.”
The great staff at PDS Interiors, including Jackie Adams, Charlotte Dixon and Justin Drafts, works so well as a team, and they are always willing to help each other in any project. This is one of the secrets of the great success that PDS Interiors has enjoyed.
Even though it takes a lot of money and work to have a retail store, Paul believes it allows customers to see the level of quality and diversity that he provides. Customers can see and touch many items, something that cannot be achieved online. “I hope you will come see us soon and enjoy the hands-on experience we provide,” he says.
