How did your business begin?
The Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP) franchise started in 1995 with Tom Fenig. I started working for the company in 2004, after briefly serving in the military. During that time I learned as much as I could about the business. I worked my way up through the company until I was able to purchase the Columbia franchise in 2007. One of our greatest achievements is being one of the top 10 OLP companies across the state because of our exceptional customer service. We also won the Super Service Award with Angie’s List, and we are proud and humbled to be in CMM’s Best of Columbia Hall of Fame for the past five years.
What differentiates your business from other specialists in the field?
We specialize specifically in outdoor lighting. It’s all we do. We have done extensive research to find high quality fixtures and products so we can give a lifetime warranty. On top of that, our installers are licensed electricians trained to install and repair new and existing systems. (You wouldn’t want a landscaper to wire your house so why would he install your landscape lighting?)
What do you like best about your line of work?
I love meeting people from all different walks of life. In one day we are able to transform a person’s outdoor living space into an area that they can’t wait to get home to. Someplace safer, more secure and inviting for the entire family. The look and feeling I can bring to them when they see how great their home looks 24 hours later is why I wake up and do this every day.
What is the mission of your business?
Our mission at Outdoor Lighting Perspectives is to help our valued clients celebrate and enjoy outdoor living. We do this by extending our clients’ leisure time outdoors while enhancing the beauty, safety and security of their homes.
