South Carolina is now home to four Mainstream Boutiques, with the Columbia store celebrating its one year anniversary September 2015. Local owner, Elliott Bridgers, was attracted to the boutique franchise because of its multi-generational approach to dressing women. “Mainstream Boutique is about providing on-trend, unique clothing and accessories at an attractive price point. We dress women of all ages and carry fashion forward styles in sizes 2-16.”
Each Mainstream Boutique is individually owned and operated. The franchise owners collectively shop markets from Los Angeles to New York (and everywhere in between) to bring the best collections to their local boutiques each season. There are now more than 50 Mainstream Boutiques across the country. This massive footprint means buying power, making the handpicked collections even more affordable for customers.
The fashion franchise also carries an exclusive private label – Mac and Me – that has quickly become a customer favorite since its launch in 2014. It is currently the company’s number one selling line. Mac and Me is designed for the Mainstream Boutique customer. Elliott explains, “There is a direct line of communication from our shoppers to the creative team, ensuring we are manufacturing the best products to fit current trends and needs. Feedback is taken from our customers on everything from fabric to fit to function.”
The first Mac and Me item produced was the perfect pair of skinny jeans in soft, buttery fabric with just the right amount of stretch. They sold out so fast that more washes and styles were added. Due to customer feedback, capris were produced in an amazing fabric in navy, black and white. A similar customer response was seen. Elliott recalls, “Our first shipment of Mac and Me jeans arrived last year. Since then, we have added t-shirts, novelty tops, basics, and jewelry. Customers love the fit of Mac and Me, and the consistent sizing. They come back as new items arrive, knowing they can count on the fit. Mac and Me is now the go-to line for many of our customers.”
