KEVIN DANIEL PRICE
Named Director of Makeup Artistry
for Columbia Style Week 2012
was hooked wanting to learn and do everything he possibly could to be the best at his passion. At the age of 23 he moved to New York City to pursue a career in makeup artistry. While working for MAC Cosmetics in Columbia, SC, Daniel applied for a
transfer position in New York City. After a few phone interviews, Daniel was packing up and heading to 'The Big Apple'. After two years with MAC in NYC, Daniel left the company to pursue his passion to a new level. Teaming up with Project Runway alum Nicolas Putvinski, Nicolas and Daniel were the 'Dynamic Duo'; editorial shoots, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS Benefits, and even NYFW 2010. Daniel was able to let his creativity flow concentrating more on hair, makeup artistry, and styling/art direction while working with Nicolas. Their collaborative show for NYFW entitled 'Madame', was a show-stopping presentation that highlighted Daniel's talents to the fullest extent. Another perk of working so closely with Nicolas was Daniel designing makeup looks for both Heidi Klum and Seal for their annual Halloween parties. This was definitely a true highlight of Daniel's career but he knew he wanted to take his career to the next level; so Daniel decided to attend hair school to further his knowledge and grow more as an artist.
New York City helped Daniel grow as an artist and gain much needed knowledge in his field, but after four years, he decided to come back to his roots of South Carolina. "I feel that I have so much to offer to South Carolina now. When I was here before, I was doing editorial shoots, weddings, proms, pageants, etc..you name it, I was doing it. Now, with all the knowledge I have gained and how much I have grown as an artist, I can do all the same things, but 100 times better! I believe as an artist, you grow every day and you learn from your surroundings, so I'm not finished yet!"
