“Inspired by real heroes, designed for real life.” This is the motto for Thread & Valor, a military-inspired online retail company. Owned by Amber Caggiano, the wife of an F-16 pilot in the USAF, the Columbia-based company takes used military and service uniforms and turns them into upscale bags and accessories. “Each uniform, each bag, is something very sacred to us,” says Amber. “Each uniform represents a story … a story filled with sacrifice, pride and love.” The company has received significant recognition nationwide and has even captured some media attention.
Thread & Valor was recently featured on the E! reality show Eric & Jessie: Game On when singer and reality star, Jessie James Decker, requested a customized diaper bag made from her stepfather’s military flight suit.
