What differentiates your hospital from other hospitals in the field?
VCA Animal Specialty Center is one hospital in a network of more than 860 hospitals! We have the backing and experience of thousands of veterinarians across the country. With that network comes a higher standard and higher accountability — there is always someone to teach and to learn from, making us all better at what we do.
What do you like best about your line of work?
Of course, helping animals! Most of us enter the veterinary field because we care about animals. We want to see our patients get better and go home to spend happy, healthy lives with their families. We take pride in helping not only pets, but also the family that is on the other end of their leash. As the referral coordinator, I am usually the person your family veterinarian speaks with when your pet needs to see a surgery or neurology specialist. It is always satisfying to know that I contribute to helping families in need by connecting them to our specialists for care.
What is your hospital’s biggest challenge?
The veterinary world is growing rapidly. We treat our pets like family, and with that comes an increase in the quality of medicine. The biggest challenge we face is providing the highest quality of medicine that is still within the financial reach of those we aim to serve. Our hospital provides 24-hour care, superior anesthesia monitoring, highly trained technicians, board-certified doctors, state-of-the-art equipment, and the list goes on. We strive to meet and exceed the quality of medicine and care you would receive from a human hospital.
