What do you like best about your line of work?
I joined Synovus (formerly known as NBSC) in 2001 and am proud of leading a team of professionals that rivals any in the financial market. I like working alongside my team in our efforts to help customers succeed, and the addition of young talent has me excited about the future for Synovus.
What differentiates your business from other specialists in the field?
Our team, and the continuity we bring to the market, is what differentiates us from others. We are very fortunate to have been able to keep our core team in place in a time when there has been a lot of job movement in our industry.
What is your business’s biggest challenge?
COVID-19, and the uncertainty the pandemic has caused across the community and our nation, has been one of the bank’s biggest challenges to date. Synovus participated in the Paycheck Protection Program, processing 2,190 loans in South Carolina alone, averaging $174,373 and totaling $382 million. These loans positively impacted 46,175 jobs across our state. I am extremely proud of our team’s response to the crisis and how we have supported our customers.
How has the Columbia community benefited from your business?
Synovus has served Columbia for more than 55 years. Using our time, talents, and resources to give back to the community has been our hallmark from the very beginning. The commitment to be the bank that leads and strengthens communities and serves the needs of customers through real, personal relationships is the backbone of the Here Matters mentality of our team.
What is your favorite pastime?
As a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, I enjoy Gamecock athletics when I am not working. I love to spend down time at the beach with my wife and children.
