What differentiates your business from other specialists in the field?
The main thing that separates us from others, I believe, is the family atmosphere we instill here at Sox and Freeman. I feel it’s important that they know they are a key component of something bigger, and that this company extends to their own family as well!
What inspires you daily?
Every day I wake up with a desire to develop passion in our employees. That can be a passion for their work and going beyond the customer’s expectations. It could also be helping to build a personal passion whether it be a sport or hobby. I want to see them flourish in all aspects of their lives. To do that often takes passion that sometimes needs to be brought out of someone.
How has the Columbia community benefited from your business?
Columbia has benefited in numerous ways from Sox and Freeman. The main way is the 70 years of tree care knowledge we have here at the company. Since 1948, we have seen and done all facets of tree care for our customers. We have the years of knowledge and background to help guide them in the right direction when it comes to their landscape and whatever issues it might be facing.
How does your company give back to the Columbia community?
This goes back to being a family. We view ourselves as a member of the Columbia community family. We sponsor events in the community to help raise awareness about various issues. We have our employees volunteer their personal time to help with some of these events, such as Feeding Children Everywhere at North Trenholm Road Baptist Church. We also are very involved with Historic Columbia. Through the years, we have given them crews to handle tree care that they needed done at some of their locations. We also help sponsor their garden symposium each year. We love giving back to the community that has helped shape us since 1948.
