How did your business begin?
Palmetto Infusion was founded right here in Columbia in 1999. Our founders set out to fulfill the need for effective, efficient infusion treatments for people who suffered from acute and chronic illnesses. Prior to our founding, these patients were traditionally treated inside hospitals or specialty doctors’ offices. We wanted to present an alternative that was more convenient, affordable, accessible, and comfortable.
What is the mission of your business?
Our mission is actually quite simple: we aim to restore our patients’ health and hope.
What differentiates your business from other specialists in the field?
At Palmetto Infusion, we simply infuse patients with medications they’ve already been prescribed. We do not diagnose folks, nor do we prescribe the drugs being administered in our clinics.
What do you like best about your line of work?
It’s been a true joy to see Palmetto Infusion grow because that means we’ve been able to provide access to excellent care to exponentially more patients than when we started.
What inspires you daily?
I never tire of hearing stories from patients and employees who credit Palmetto Infusion for making meaningful improvements in their lives. It is so rewarding to be in a line of work that enables people to live fuller, richer lives.
How has your life experience made you successful in your field today?
As a man of faith, I have a strong belief in the power of servant leadership and in leading by example. I believe that businesses are far more successful when they shift from a traditional
profit-first mindset to a team-first mindset.
What is something people would be surprised to learn about your business?
Many people might be surprised to learn that each of our locations feels more like home than a traditional clinic setting. We want patients and their families to step inside our walls and feel instantly at ease. Our infusion chairs are comfortable, our staff is friendly and professional, and we provide the comforts of home like blankets, snacks, Wi-Fi, television — anything and everything that might help a patient relax during their visit.
