What is the mission of your business?
That’s easy — to help people who need help. When a person calls a lawyer, it tends to be one of the darkest times of their lives. As their lawyer, you are their best hope to help them resolve their problem. At McLeod Law Group, we take that responsibility very seriously. And I think the results we have obtained over the years confirm our dedication to our clients and our commitment to their cases.
What differentiates your business from other specialists in the field?
First let me say that there are a lot of really good lawyers in this state. We are blessed to work with and against lawyers who are very talented and who work hard for their clients. I think generally we take the long view with our cases — that is because most of our cases involve clients who are catastrophically injured. This fact necessarily means the cases will involve lots of work and strategy to maximize their recovery. We do not stop until we secure a complete recovery and provide justice for our clients. Each client’s case is the most important case of their life, and we work to ensure that they get the best possible outcome no matter how long it takes.
What do you like best about your line of work?
When people initially call us, something bad has happened to them. They have lost a family member, or they have been catastrophically injured, or they have been wronged in some way. Many people do not personally know a lawyer, and their first call to us is usually a tearful one where they ask for our help.
One of the best things about this job is to take the worries and fears of your clients, place them on your shoulders, and work with them to achieve an outcome that will make their life better. One of the best feelings as a lawyer is that moment when the client gives you a hug and says, “Thank you for all you have done for me and my family.” It’s that moment we know we have made an impact.
What inspires you daily?
We like the word inspire, but maybe a better word for McLeod Law Group is “drive.” To that end, two things drive us — and they really work together. One, we are driven to help our clients obtain an outcome that positively impacts their lives.
Second, we are a competitive group. We do not just go through the motions or rest on past outcomes. We are driven, maybe we are just wired, to compete on behalf of our clients. We enjoy the work — we get to strategize and plan and work really hard to try to win for the people who hired us. Generally, the cases we file involve high stakes. Therefore, the other side often has a whole team of really good lawyers who want to win just as badly as we do. The chance to handle difficult and important cases against great lawyers drives us to work hard and to be our very best for our clients.
