What is the mission of your business?
“Peacock Loves” is our long-term commitment to delivering the highest level of positive experiences to our customers, employees, and community. This is achieved by constantly improving onsite experiences and creating long-term relationships. We do our best to make everyone happy, and to have zero dissatisfied customers!
How did you get involved with the business?
While serving as a special agent in the State Department, I visited a Datsun (Nissan)/Dodge dealership to purchase a new car for my wife. The owner, Bruce, told me a little about the auto industry, and I was intrigued. Soon after, I went to work for Bruce. Now, after 40 years, I am grateful for the mentorship he provided me.
What do you like best about your line of work?
The daily interaction with clients and fellow employees, and the challenges/rewards of providing the proper vehicle and services to ensure each individual’s complete satisfaction.
What is your favorite pastime?
Boating and a love for the water! I was very fortunate to grow up on two waterways: the Chesapeake Bay and Lake Wallenpaupack. I love boating and living around water, and I have been blessed with a wife and two daughters who share my passion for boating and the sea. Both girls have continued their love for water — one as a U.S. Navy Commander; the other, who resides and works in Melbourne Beach, Florida, regularly competes in triathlons — which of course include a swimming component. And since relocating to Columbia, my wife and I have resided on beautiful Lake Murray.
How does your company give back to the Columbia community?
We regularly contribute to many charities and local institutions. We support the University of South Carolina, and more specifically the athletic department, including the recently dedicated Football Operations Center. We are active in and support the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. We also support Palmetto Place Children’s Home, Historic Columbia, The Free Medical Clinic, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and US Marine Corps Toys 4 Tots — to name a few.
