What differentiates your business from other businesses in your field?
Ethan Allen has been defined by exceptional craftsmanship since the very beginning in Vermont in 1932. Many of our iconic pieces are still handcrafted in our own North American workshops, where we’ve been using traditional techniques handed down for generations to make highly customizable products. Style is personal so our design professionals listen. They mix, match, measure, guide, inspire, and find solutions to all your design problems. Our design professionals help create your one-of-a-kind look. Ethan Allen excels at personal service.
What do you like best about your line of work?
At Ethan Allen we provide so much more enrichment to people’s lives than just selling furniture. We work in partnership with clients to help them create spaces in their homes that are personal and unique to them. These spaces are where life happens over time, and knowing we are helping our clients create these spaces where those special moments happen is fulfilling for me and all our associates.
What is your favorite pastime?
Travel is my favorite pastime. Exploring other cultures and locations around the world is very enjoyable for me and something I enjoy doing with family and friends. It is also a source of inspiration for my work with my business since the products we offer are often inspired from many different cultures and places around the world.
How does your company give back to the Columbia community?
A few years back we made a commitment to support two local causes. The first is the Hewitt Foundation that invests in local community projects and helps families in need. The second is very personal for us because our son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 11. Therefore, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is an organization that we are supporting to help find better treatment options and a cure.
