How did your business begin?
Over the past decade, Tracy and I have had the opportunity to work at several excellent hospitals, but our dream was always to return to Columbia and start our own practice. After years of hard work and planning, that dream became a reality, and we couldn’t be prouder of how CVETS has come to life. With Tracy’s experience in emergency medicine and mine in surgery, we saw a need for a new multispecialty emergency hospital in Columbia.
What is the mission of your business?
Our mission at CVETS is to consistently practice excellent medicine with phenomenal client care. We aim to provide the highest standard of veterinary medicine possible, and our team is committed to development and maintenance of our relationships with our referring veterinarians.
How has the Columbia community benefited from your business?
The past five years have been filled with tremendous growth. Seeing this growth and the constant support from our referral base has allowed us to make big decisions about the future. That’s why we broke ground in May of 2021 on a new 17,000-square foot expansion as well as decided to open a new Urgent Care location in West Columbia. We are tremendously excited to be able to provide this many advanced services to the Columbia community.
How does your company give back to the Columbia community?
Being an emergency veterinary center, we wanted to find a way to help pet parents who are struggling to afford emergency care for their fur babies. That’s why we work very closely with nonprofits and rescue groups. Several of our doctors have volunteered to be on the board of directors for a new nonprofit called Paws for Life. We are very proud to be affiliated with an organization that gives back. Paws for Life was founded in 2022 and is always raising funds to help as many pet parents as possible. If you would like to donate, visit PawsforLifeSC.com or donate to any rescue organization of your choosing.
