Create a glorious entry to your home this Christmas by decorating your stairwell with fresh cuttings of greenery. Paula Gillotte of Potscapes decorated Kathy and Jack Wolfe’s foyer in a magical way by leading the eye upward with smiles of fresh magnolia, ‘Carolina Sapphire’ cypress, pine, and Fraser fir, wired together in swags and accented with gold and silver shimmering bows resting on the handrail.
Pooling the swags artfully at the bottom and arranging the wide ribbons to cascade to the floor is a beautiful framework for the handsome stair. Paula arranged the cement urn with the same greenery, adding curly willow branches holding small silver ornaments. As an artistic touch returning yearly, a favorite angel of the Wolfe family rests on a bed of magnolia and pine at the foot of the stair where it guards and blesses the home.
Be inspired and enjoy decorating your home this year with fresh local greenery — bringing the boughs inside will give your home warmth and the unmistakable fresh smell of Christmas.
