Define the Design: Grand Entrance

Dress doors with the right hardware

By Harriett Barrett, Southern Custom Doors & Hardware

While decorating your home, door hardware can often be overlooked in favor of items like paint color and furniture. Selecting decorative household hardware to suit your personal style, though, will always enhance the beauty of your room.

Today, door hardware is available in varying styles, including traditional, Victorian transitional, craftsman, modern, rustic, and more. Designers, like Roger Thomas and Lenny Kravitz for Rocky Mountain Hardware, are also creating beautiful lines of hardware. Erinn Valencich has designed a collection for Baldwin Hardware.

Decorative door hardware is jewelry for the door, and a room without the right style of hardware is simply underdressed.
