While playing football in college Dr. Robert Bigbie suffered many injuries and was helped by a chiropractor. While receiving regular chiropractic care for these injuries, he started also noticing improvement with other problems he had, such as allergies, eczema and headaches. His life was changed by chiropractic care, so he changed his major from pre-med to pre-chiropractic. He graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1980. Dr. Bigbie further advanced his training and is a Board Certified Fellow from the Academy of Applied Spinal Biomechanic Engineering and a Certified Biophysics Practitioner, as well as an Upper Cervical Certified Practitioner. Dr. Bigbie has a passion for helping people achieve better health without unnecessary drugs and surgery.
Dr. Bigbie is a member of the International Chiropractic Association and the South Carolina Chiropractic Association. He has received the Distinguished Service Award from the New York Chiropractic Council and the South Carolina Chiropractic Association. He is a founding member of the World Children’s Wellness Association and is an active member of the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research.
Dr. Bigbie opened his first practice in Mineola, NY where he practiced until 1995. He has been serving the people of the Midlands with the highest quality natural health care since 1996. Over the past 32 years, Dr. Bigbie has helped more than 25,000 patients.
“Our practice mission is to promote better health by educating our patients and their families and friends about how their bodies work,” says Dr. Bigbie, “and by showing them how to achieve and maintain good health through regular chiropractic care along with life style modifications, including nutrition and exercise. Our doctors speak regularly at local businesses and churches to share this information.”
Along with his associates, Dr. Jason G. Mubarak and Dr. Michael Forsyth, Dr Bigbie and the staff at Bigbie Chiropractic serve patients of all ages from infants to the elderly.
The practice offers state of the art diagnostic equipment and the latest non-drug, non-surgical treatment options for chronic pain, including non-surgical spinal decompression for those patients suffering with serious neck and low back pain including bulging discs, spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease. In addition, the office offers cold laser, infra-red therapy, whole body vibration therapy and exercise with oxygen for the increasing numbers of patients presenting with chronic problems such as fibromyalgia, neuropathy and vertigo. Science Based Nutrition and Massage Therapy are also available.
With three doctors on staff, there is usually no waiting, and the office is open until 6:30 pm Monday through Friday, with early morning appointments available as well. Most insurance is accepted as well as flexible payment plans.
