This past summer, Marina Lomazov, associate professor of music at U.S.C. and artistic director of the Southeastern Piano Festival, made a two-week concert tour of China, Italy and Spain, where she played before large and enthusiastic audiences. On Nov. 13, the Ukraine native returns to the stage in Columbia, performing Piano Concerto in A minor by Edvard Grieg, the only concerto written by the composer and one of the most popular piano concerti. The U.S.C. Symphony Orchestra will also perform the Overture to Prometheus by Ludwig van Beethoven and Death and Transfiguration by Richard Strauss. Don’t wait long to purchase a seat for an invigorating night of seasoned and novel music as Lomazov’s Columbia performances regularly sell out. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Koger Center.
