At Palmetto Tile, business is personal. Having served the Columbia market for more than 35 years, the staff at Palmetto Tile is more like a family, with some having worked on the showroom floor for more than 15 years.
Palmetto Tile takes that family focus and extends it to its clients, where the emphasis is on building a longstanding relationship. It is not their goal to quickly sell customers tile and move on to the next sale. Instead, they take care in providing a consultative approach, getting to know their clients and creating an excellent customer experience for them. The Palmetto Tile team is dedicated to developing a strong rapport with their clients so that they will want to return for their next project or spread the word to others looking for a redesign. In fact, most of Palmetto Tile’s new clients are referrals from those they have worked with in the past — a testament to the service and support the team delivers, not to mention the high-quality products and vast collection of designs and finishes.
Palmetto Tile doesn’t seek to compete with the big box store or national chains. Their goal is to understand what appeals to their South Carolina clientele on a more personal level. Clients will find beautiful finishes imported from Italy and Spain, underscoring Palmetto Tile’s commitment to working with the best, most progressive manufacturers. With the team’s extensive experience and expertise, Palmetto Tile’s clients can be assured they are staying ahead of the newest design trends and are installing the most beautiful porcelain, glass, and stone tiles on the market. “Like fashion, trends in tile are ever-changing,” says Cathrine Reynolds with Palmetto Tile. Currently, large format tiles ranging in size from 18 x 36 inches to 30 x 60 inches are flooding the marketplace. Palmetto Tile imports many of these sizes for stock, ensuring they are readily available for their clients at a cost-effective price point. Large format subway tiles and patterned tiles are also very popular types today.

“We offer a myriad of options to fit all styles of design,” says Cathrine. “Our desire is to help make each project a reflection of the unique people living in that space. Again, we accomplish this by getting to know our clients, then pulling together the perfect finishes for not only the look they are trying to achieve but also their lifestyle. This is imperative because there are so many options that it can become overwhelming. We love helping our clients bring their ideas to fruition by using traditional finishes in unconventional ways.”
The team at Palmetto Tile prides itself on making the process as enjoyable and stress-free as possible for their clients. And they are always inspired by a good design challenge. All of Palmetto Tile’s showroom staff have backgrounds in design and are well aware of the many nuances that come with the building process. “There is nothing better than being stretched creatively,” adds Cathrine. “After all, it’s been said that our home is our calling card.”
