Wedding 101

Wedding 101 is a multi-purpose wedding resource located in a hip and stylish studio overlooking Main Street in the heart of downtown Columbia. “We are not planners, caterers, florists or photographers, but rather a pooled resource of all things wedding,” says owner Connie Hancock.

A Columbia native, Connie fell in love with weddings at an early age. While looking to find her niche in the wedding industry, she discovered Wedding 101 and knew she had to bring the business concept to Carolina brides. The founders of Wedding 101, Amy Dickerson and Ashley Hicks, launched the flagship studio in Nashville in August 2009, and both brides and vendors alike have gone crazy over the concept. “I am grateful for the opportunity to bring this idea to the Midlands,” Connie says.

“I’m excited to provide a medium for local vendors to connect with brides on a daily basis. Each bride and event is unique, and it is my goal at Wedding 101 to expose them to all of the incredible resources that our city has to offer. We have an excellent group of debut vendors and are adding to our library daily,” she says.

Wedding 101 displays the fantastic work of its vendors, from invitations and attire and even cake and table settings, to generate ideas while educating and inspiring brides. In the 3,100-square-foot interactive studio, brides can attend cake and wine tastings, catering samples and seminars by travel agents and other talented vendors that will increase their knowledge and reduce their stress.

The best part ... it’s FREE! “We will sit down and have a complimentary consultation with each bride and begin guiding her through the many decisions that have to be made during the wedding planning process,” Connie says. “Our website also is full of information, and we are constantly blogging the latest wedding tips and trends.”

Visit the studio at 1537 Main Street, Suite B or online at www.wedding101.net.
